Villa fans get to roll dice on

Villa fans can step in to the shoes of billionaire football club owners by splashing the cash on their favourite players in a Claret and Blue version of Monopoly.

The club has brought out an official special edition of the classic game and hopes it will be on the Christmas list of every discerning fan.

rolex fake In the place of the famous streets are Villa heroes of today and yesteryear while London's well-known stations make way for Villa Park's four stands.

Goalkeeper Brad Friedel has the dubious honour of being the cheapest property on the board, replacing Old Kent Road.

The position taken up by Monopoly's most expensive property, normally Mayfair, is occupied by former manager Ron Saunders, who led the club to its first league title win for 71 years in 1981, as well as two League Cups.

New signing Stewart Downing wins a place on the board despite having yet to start a game because of injury.

But there is no place for former captain Gareth Barry, who left for Manchester City in the summer after 11 years at Villa Park. The Holte pub and Aston Villa store appear in place of the traditional utilities.

Head of merchandising John Greenfield said: "We think is an excellent present which updates the traditional format and reflects the heritage of the club.

"All the heads of department sat down and discussed which players they would like to see on the board."

The game is only available on pre-order but Villa fans have been speculating about forfeits if they turn over the wrong "chance" cards.

The game will be available for pounds 25 from Villa Village and the city centre store in New Street from the first week in November.
