THE Charity League saw seven games postponed due to the bad weather, so anyone wanting extra practice and to contribute to a worthy cause is welcome at the Irish Club, Horton Road, tonight.

Starting at 7.30pm, matches will be played in aid of the Pat Leach Fund.

Leach went blind last February, and family and friends are rallying to raise money to send her to China for stem cell treatment that is not available in this country.

The Pounds 3-per-player entrance fee includes a buffet.

Another new skittle alley has opened in Gloucester, with Spartans RFC officially moving to their new premises at the former YMCA building in Sebert Street.

Dale Malpas, secretary of the Jolly Boys pandora beads skittle team and Spartans RFC committee member, said: "We hope the more central location will be to the benefit of the rugby club and will encourage new members, especially being so close to Kingsholm Road."

The Jolly Boys' next home match is against Pike and Musket in week 20.

Of the games Fake Miu Miu Handbags played, Macros moved into second place in Division Two after their re-arranged visit to the Walls Club against Gloucester City CC.

First-half anchorman John Jonas scored 71 for the Macros and his opposite man Graham Drinkwater scored 79.

The Cricketers brought back a five-pin deficit and had a comfortable lead, only to see it disappear over the last four legs.

Macros achieved a ninth leg of 40 pins and were two pins up on the second half with a leg to go.

Ben Lambert of the Cricketers was on for 80 but finished with a three for 77 as Bob Hornsby's ninth-leg 13 spare became the deciding factor, earning Macros all six points and making them strong favourites for Division One skittles next season.

The Librarians annihilated Price Walker AFC in their rearranged match at Baker Street with a convincing 92-pin, six point win to take them five points clear at the top of Division One.

They also achieved they first individual Certificate of Merit, with captain Mark Cornwell scoring 91.
