JULY 1, 2008 More than 100 police officers raid five homes in the city under the Terrorism Act. Officers search three houses in Cobridge, one in Smallthorne and one in Tunstall. No-one is arrested.

JULY 2, 2008 Officers say an investigation has started into the "significant amount" of property recovered from the houses. It includes several computers, literature, mobile phones and four vehicles.

JULY 4, 2008 Two of the men whose homes were raided deny any wrongdoing during a press conference at Cobridge Community Centre.

JULY 22, 2008 Extra police officers are drafted in to examine items seized during the raids as senior officers warn it could take a long time investigation. OCTOBER 2008 Staffordshire Police sends its first file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

APRIL 1, 2009 Police say they are still working through evidence, nine months after the raids. A second file of evidence is sent to the CPS the same month.

JULY 1, 2009 One year on, Staffordshire Police has still to make any arrests. Senior officers describe the situation Seiko Watches as "unique". OCTOBER 2009 A third file of evidence is sent to the CPS.

NOVEMBER 2009 A final file is sent to the CPS. FEBRUARY 25, 2010 Staffordshire Police and the CPS announce that no further action is to be taken as the evidence submitted does not present a "realistic chance of conviction".
